Motorhome AC Freezing Up

We have two 13.5 air conditioning units on our 36 foot Motorhome. They keep freezing up. When we shut them down they will work again after they have set a while.

The units are 14 years old. Do we just write it off to age and get new ones or could it be something simple to fix?

If your filters or coils are dirty that could cause your unit to freeze up. If both are freezing up it's most likely just dirty coils. Leaking freon will cause them to freeze also but just for a short time before it all leaks out. If it's been doing this for awhile they need a good cleaning
