How To Build a Metal Awning Over a Tip Out

by Anita Curle
(Glennifer Lake, Alberta, Canada)

Question: Hi we have a 30 foot trailer with a 150 inch tip out that has sprung a leak. The trailer is parked and many have built a metal awning.

Can u advise on how to build and attach to the trailer?

Robbie: In the past I've seen the metal awnings installed the same way they would have it on a mobile home. The panels are screwed into the side of your RV. This would only be practical on a trailer you don't plan on moving for a long time. For an estimate you'll need to call a Mobile Home Service Company as this would not be considered an RV application.
